Most of us complain that we don’t have enough time to get to the gym, or that we’re too tired by the time we get home at night. So here’s the good news: there are plenty of ways to get and stay fit outside of the gym. As you already know, the two big areas of exercise are cardio and strength training, both of which you can do at home and at work.
The worst thing we could do for ourselves physically is to sit all day, which is exactly what most of us do at work. I tried to make a little joke on an Internet forum the other day. The question was posed as follows: “What is the best exercise for weight loss?” I posted what I thought was a humorous answer. I answered that the best exercise for weight loss in my mind is called a table pushaway. Surprisingly enough, the next post on the forum was “Does anyone know how to do a table pushaway?”
I guess most people don’t get my sense of humor. What I was trying to get people to understand is that the simplest way to lose weight is to simply push away from the table. This act alone will do more for weight loss than both running and weight training put together - bottom line. Most people eat too much.
