Have you flipped your lid?!

There are so many crazy stories in the news this week, I think something must be in the air. And you know me; never short on opinions. I'll offer my two cents, I hope you'll offer yours! In no particular order, let the craziness begin.
1.
A 23-year-old woman from North Smithfield, Rhode Island is to be arraigned on assault and battery charges for allegedly throwing a cup of hot coffee at a parking enforcement officer in Brookline Village yesterday. Police said Krystle Charley allegedly hurled the coffee as 64-year-old officer Claire McPherson wrote out a 25-dollar ticket for being parked at an expired meter.
Come on! Nobody likes getting a parking ticket. And most of us have probably been the “victim” of a hovering meter maid. You know, the kind who hovers at the nearly expired meter and already has the ticket filled out. Invariably you show up two seconds too late. But by far, most “parking enforcement officers” are just doing their job. And on more occasions than not, we (the park-er) is the guilty party. Just pay the ticket and don't park illegally again. And by all means, don't waste a cup of coffee that you just paid $5 for....1/5 of the actual parking ticket. Geesh do the math lady!
2.
Selectmen in Raynham last night turned down a request to serve beer and wine at a laundromat. The owner of Raynham Laundry Center made the request in an effort to stop what he said was a steady drop in his business. The town's police chief voiced concern about the proposal and at least one member of the board of selectman said granting the request would set a precedent for other businesses. Selectmen said the laundromat owner can appeal the decision to the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.
Now, call me crazy. But what's so wrong with serving booze at a laundromat? After-all, back in the day someone, somewhere thought it would be a good idea to put swinging doors on a big enclosed room, and serve liquor to card-playing-men who are packing heat. At least at the laundromat, you're making good use of your time. And when your unmentionables are folded, you can get on your horse and ride home.
3.
Naomi Campbell is in trouble again. E! News is reporting that Campbell's chauffeur stopped his car in midtown Manhattan on Tuesday to tell police that the supermodel was beating him. Campbell had reportedly left the scene by the time authorities arrived. Police say charges could be filed in the case.
As far as I'm concerned, NO ONE should EVER hire this woman for another glamorous job again. She has proven herself to be nothing more than a spoiled child. 147 strikes, YOU'RE OUT NAOMI! Period. Nuff said.

Employees at the air traffic control tower at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York are being probed by the FAA. The controllers in question have been taken off duty while an investigation is conducted into allowing a child to transmit directions to pilots.
If you've ever flown on a plane, you should have an opinion on this. The job of an air traffic controller is equal in importance to that of the pilot and the mechanics of an aircraft. You don't want a 6 year old flying your plane and you don't want a kid anywhere near the intricacies of a plane. I think the FAA should probe the workers in question. And I think the “probe” should be about 3 feet long.

BoozeBag -- Doyle, is that you!?
Sue, I dont understand why you find these stories so outrageous. After all, you work with Lauren & Wally (And Tom Doyle) every a.m.!! :O)
In all seriousness, people are NUTS today, and not just funny nuts....Out of their mind nuts. I hope Ms. Krystal got a stiff fine over and above her $25 parking ticket for hurling hot coffee.

Let them drink at the Laundromat. And if the other businesses complain, let them drink there. Bowling alley? Sure! Insurance office? Yes!
