Mani Pedi
Posted 9/25/2013 1:01:00 PM

Another survey -  half of us paint our toenails in the winter, half don't. Who cares? Apparently someone does. By universal standards I'm a babe in the woods but by marketing standards, middle aged. So I may have a different view of the "mani/pedi".  When did it become common place for the average woman to regularly go to a salon to have her nails done? Weddings, birthdays, mother, daughter, friend fun days, ok, acceptable. But when did it become a routine part of a woman's life? Painting nails and toenails is something most of us are more than capable of doing ourselves. The very few times I've gone and had it done for me I felt ridiculous. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the whole process with the warm water and hot wax and my nails did look pretty but it just seemed so excessive. There's a whole generation of women who claim they can't afford to live on their own but won't live without a weekly "mani/pedi". And don't get me started about unused gym memberships and over used fancy phones….and get off my lawn!!!
