Facial Hair

You don't see many full beards around here even though it's certainly cold enough to warrant growing one. I'm not in love with the lumberjack look. A mustache is nice on the right man. Tommy Doyle has a mustache; so does Loren....and Paul Perry, too. I bet those men have had that facial hair growing above their lip since the 70's....when the mustache was all the rage. Younger men seem to sport the "patch" now; a random patch of hair somewhere on their chin, sometimes accompanied by a light 'stache. I like the look of a nice goatee although the pencil thin whiskers on Willie DeVille (RIP) sends a nice shiver to all the right places as does the growth Captain Jack Sparrow has cultivated above and below his mouth so I suppose what that really means is when it comes to what's atrractive it depends on the individual. I think one of the saddest things is when a man shaves the mustache or beard he's had for ages....and no one notices. It's like when men spend extra time and effort to look appealing on their wedding day and almost no one tells that man how handsome he looks. So, how about today, you tell that guy you live with or work with or...see on the street "HEY!!! LOOKIN' GOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

I have a handlebar moustache/ goatee. Some people say I look like a physco but most don't look at me. I should shave it off and really scare everyone!!

I've had a mustache since 72. I've shaved it off three times. Everytime I grow it right back. It has become a part of me and I can't be without it.

Julie a full beard is not the face warmer in the winter you may think. I think I know as I have had a full beard for over 25 years. When you are out shoveling in the snow the beard collects the snow and freezes. A frozen beard is no thigh tickler. Although as Effie asks Effis "don't your ears ever get cold". To be honest I think a beard is more cooling in the summer as it keeps the sun off your face along with a hat and sunglasses. I will keep the beard even if you don't like beards as I am now mistaken for Santa year round.

I think a beard is great! I had a large wedding party and all the men including the groom had some form of a beard. I do not like the little hair under the chin look. A beard should be maintained neatly to look great.
