Teased, tortured and brought to the brink of suffocation in wait for Deep Purple’s new album, fans can take a breath as the wait is finally over. We have a release date (April 30th) AND a title to the upcoming LP.
Now What?!, features 11 songs that were recorded, according to the Deep Purple website, “with no musical rules, and it shows a modern and fresh production to the point that Deep Purple have never sounded so close to the spirit of the 70s in the last 20 years as they do now.”
Well, with such a claim, April 30 can’t arrive fast enough.
Aside from the traditional media formats, the band will release on a double sided vinyl two LP’s from the album: “Hell to Pay” and “All the Time in the World.” But, here’s the kicker, only a mere 1000 vinyl will be produced, and released on March 29. In addition, there will be a limited edition version, complete with a bonus DVD that includes a studio cover version of the album and band commentary.
From the sound of the “audio” tease below, we think Now What?! just may exceed all expectations.
