Between performances from some of today’s most popular rockers, and honors going out to the artists who inspired them, this year’s Golden Gods Awards is set to be a great one.

Rush, Aerosmith and Motorhead have all landed nominations for the 5th annual ceremony, which takes place on May 2nd at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia. Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart are up for Best Guitarist and Best Drummer, respectively, with Aerosmith being recognized under the Comeback of the Year category, and Motorhead’s iconic frontman, Lemmy, going up against Rush’s Geddy Lee for the Paul Gray Best Bassist award.

This year’s special honors will go out to Metallica (Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award), Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi (Riff Lord Award) and shock rocker Rob Zombie (Golden God Award).

The awards, which are presented by Revolver Magazine, will once again be hosted by pro wrestler Chris Jericho, with Sebastian Bach and Dee Snider lending their MC talents to the Black Carpet pre-show. Fans can vote in any or all of the Golden God’s 11 categories and find out ticket info at www.goldengodsawards.com.
