Yesterday, Jon Bon Jovi received news that he, or any parent for that matter, never wanted to hear.
The rock legend’s daughter, 19-year-old Stephanie Bongiovi, is now reportedly facing drug charges after overdosing on heroin in a dorm room at Hamilton College on Wednesday (November 14th).
According to Billboard, an ambulance crew found Bongiovi unresponsive in Dunham Hall after responding to a call from a source that said a girl had overdosed there.
She is currently recovering at hospital that has not been named.
After investigators got a search warrant for the dorm, which they haven’t specified was Bongiovi’s, they found heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. This led to the arrest of her and 21-year-old Ian Grant, who is from the same home town as Stephanie – Red Bank, N.J.
Both are now facing misdemeanor charges for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Bongiovi is also facing misdemeanor charges for criminal possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, as well as a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.
Ironically, Jon Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform on December 5th in Times Square to benefit Hamilton’s scholarships and art programs. No word on whether these events will affect that performance.
