“And here’s to you, Mr. Simon we all love you more than you will know.”
Today we celebrate the birthday of one of the most influential artists in music history, Paul Simon.
From his early beginnings with Art Garfunkel as “Tom and Jerry”, the famous duo later known as Simon & Garfunkel shot to fame in the 60s with songs like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “The Sound of Silence”, and of course, “Mrs. Robinson”.
After splitting with Garfunkel in the early 70s, Simon went on to have a successful solo career, releasing albums such as Still Crazy After All These Years, Graceland and his most recent, So Beautiful So What.
He is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, has received fourteen Grammys and was awarded Kennedy Center Honors in 2006.
Simon just recently released a 25th anniversary of his album Graceland and a new concert album Live from New York. He also is very active with his charity “Children’s Health Fund,” planning auctions and events to support the cause.
Help us wish Paul Simon a Happy Birthday by checking out some of his greatest performances and leaving your wishes for him below!
