Rumors of Elton John's demise have been exaggerated -- yet again.
As spokeswoman for John has denied the latest rumor about him retiring, though this one came from the Rocket Man's own mouth.
During a performance at the Festival de Carcassone on Tuesday (July 15) in France, John told the crowd that there would be "no more shows, no more music, no more songs" in order for him to spend time with his partner David Furnish and their children Zachary, who's three years old, and 18-month-old Elijah.
But John's spokeswoman said Wednesday (July 16) that, "He's not retiring. Elton was only joking." John has announced several retirements during his career, none of which have stuck. He actually has an extensive touring schedule through the end of the year, playing Europe through the end of July, North America in September, Europe again in November and a New Year's Eve show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
