Baker Reveals New Album Was Recorded In Two Days

LONDON, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 02: Former Cream drummer Ginger Baker with his Innovator award during the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards at the Park Lane Hotel on November 2, 2009 in London, England.
One of this week’s notable new releases is Ginger Baker’s Why?, which is the first album with his new band the Jazz Confusion, and according to Baker, recording the album was anything but confusing.

In an interview with Esquire.com, Baker was asked if he was happy with how the album turned, to which he replied, “Yeah.  We were all very pleased with it.  It took us just two days.”

The interview is a quick read, but a must-read, where Baker talks about how he wished he could teleport to and from gigs, never practices playing the drums and criticizes the reporter for talking about how he’s notoriously difficult to work with (“Don’t write silly, stupid question).

Truth be told, that’s just good advice.

Baker is playing a handful of shows this summer.  You can check out dates for upcoming performances and more at GingerBaker.com.
