Aerosmith's Joe Perry isn't expecting to release any new music, solo or with the band, until next year. But he is planning some musical goodies that will accompany his upcoming memoir, "Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith," that's being published in October.
But the guitarist tells us that the nature of those extras has changed over time:
"I was hoping to put some new material, to give some away with the book, but we're gonna work around that and have some...added value to the book..."I'm gonna give away some of the songs, some of my favorite songs from some of my solo work that I know people haven't heard just by virtue of...how they sold and what songs were played and that kind of thing. So I wanted to just kind of put them in there as a reminder those albums are out there, and we'll also put a few other odds and ends out there, maybe some video links to some interviews and things like that."
Perry and Aerosmith are touring Europe until July 2, then returns to North America for summer dates with Slash that begin July 10 in Wantagh, N.Y.
