As the old saying goes, there are two sides to every story. However, in Aerosmith’s case, there are five, and with the release of Joe Perry’s autobiography in October 2014, fans will get the chance to read about all of the ups and downs from the perspective of the legendary guitarist.
Titled Rocks: My Life in and Out of Aerosmith, Perry said in a recent interview with RollingStone.com that he wanted to write his story for some time, but he put the project on hold, after Joey Kramer released his autobiography in 2009 and Steven Tyler released his in 2011. Perry said he didn’t want to give the impression, in his words, “like mine was an answer to his,” referring, of course, to Tyler’s book.
Speaking of Tyler’s book, Perry went on to say that while it was “definitely Steven’s truth” that his book won’t “put words in other people’s mouths or talk about conversations that I wasn’t there for.”
Geez…with the way Tyler and Perry exchange words sometimes, it’s hard to tell if they’re brothers or former lovers.
Regardless of what’s said on the pages, Perry’s book will definitely be a must-read for this fall, and while, yes, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, I gotta admit that the cover to Rocks is awesome! Check it out below!
