Looks like Neil Young’s “Official Series 2” Vinyl Box Set scheduled for release on Record Store Day is being pushed back until November 2014.
According to a press release from his label Reprise Records, the box set is delayed “due to several other projects that Young has in the works that he wishes to focus on.”
Call it a hunch, but we’re thinking the huge interest in Young’s Pono Music Service and Player has something to do with the delay.
A Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to manufacture the new digital music format player and service launched March 11th and raised its goal of $800,000 within ten hours. The campaign expires on April 15th, and as we’re writing this story, over 12,000 backers have pledged over $4 million.
