Taking fans on a musical journey for more than four decades is Neal Schon, and today, he celebrates his birthday!
From a young age, Neal Joseph Schon was considered a musical prodigy. With the talent to back up such a claim, Schon joined Santana at the age of 17 as a guitarist.
Four years later, Schon and fellow Santana member Gregg Rolie introduced Journey to the world.
The band has produced some of the most iconic rock music of all time, from "Any Way You Want It" to "Who's Crying Now," and -- of course -- "Don't Stop Believin'."
With fellow Journey stalwart Ross Valory, Schon continues to rock with the band after more than forty years.
Schon has proven himself to be a capable solo artist as well, having also performed with the likes of Bad English, HSAS, Paul Rodgers and Piranha Blues.
Throughout the decades, Schon has kept Journey rolling, maintaining his spot as the only constant member of the group.
He had a busy 2013, including being inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and tying the knot to Michaele Salahi.
Journey will depart on a major U.S. tour this summer, hitting a number of major cities, kicking off in Chula Vista, California.
There are also rumblings that he and the original Santana bandmates might get around to releasing a new album together.
