It looks like a Steven Tyler solo album will be out sometime in early 2014.
The Aerosmith frontman recently revealed to a Boston radio station that he’s currently wrapping production on the LP, and stated that it will likely be released within the first three months of next year.
While Tyler doesn’t really give many other details on what the album’s sound or even genre will be, the singer told Rolling Stone back in June that he was interested in experimenting with electronic music.
“I got that itch to do something that's a lot different than Aerosmith,” Tyler told Rolling Stone. “I'm into electronica …So there's just a lot of stuff – good, weird f*****g music that I want to get off my chest.”
Tyler’s year has also featured quite a bit of studio time outside of his solo record. The rocker teamed up with Australian singer/guitarist Orianthi for the song “Sex E. Bizarre” which was released in August, and K-Pop sensation PSY (“Gangnam Style”) recently revealed to Italy’s L’Uomo Vogue that he and Tyler recorded a track together earlier this year.
On the Aerosmith front, the Tyler and the band have just wrapped up the South American leg of their Global Warming Tour, which they played in support of their 2012 album, Music From Another Dimension.
