Just in time for winter, the Rolling Stones are reminding us of that “Sweet Summer Sun” with the upcoming release of a new concert doc.
“Sweet Summer Sun – Hyde Park Live,” which was recorded in July during the Stones’ 50 & Counting Tour, will get a worldwide screening in cinemas on November 6 before coming out on DVD, hennemusic reports.
“Coming back to Hyde Park was like a full circle being drawn, and the band were in top form,” Keith Richards said (via hennemusic). “We thought what could be more appropriate than having a great summer in London!”
Aside from the U.S., the film is scheduled to debut in Canada, France, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Poland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, with additional nations to be named later.
In North America, the DVD will be released on November 12, capturing “the band’s historic return to London’s Hyde Park with a 2-hour live concert and highlights package including new and unseen backstage footage.”
Former Stones guitarist Mick Taylor returns for a special guest appearance on two of the songs in front of 100,000 fans in London.
