Jeff Beck has fired back at Rod Stewart after his comments about the 45th anniversary of the Jeff Beck Group’s Truth.
While Rod Stewart claimed his former bandmate was the holdup keeping them from reuniting to celebrate the album’s 45th year, Beck himself tells a different story in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal.
“He never calls,” Beck said, adding that soccer and “other distractions” have kept them from reuniting on a project. “Get rid of them and we’ll have an album.”
The WSJ notes that Stewart joined Beck onstage just four years ago in Los Angeles, but little progress has been made in the ensuing years.
While Stewart is promoting his new record Time on the road, including a several-date stint at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in November, Beck is on the tail-end of his tour with Brian Wilson, which runs through October.
