Both look good. Together? We'll see.
It's based on the true story of the Iran Hostage Crisis of 1979, my first introduction to how crazy scary the world can be. I was 8. (P.S. The world only got scarier.)
Anyway, here it is. Incidentally, Ben rocks the '70s look.

"Argo" opens Oct. 12.

Jumping Up for Down Syndrome Event

My dog, Poor Dead Norman, had some fine qualities, like being able to leap kitchen tables in a single bound to eat an entire plate of cookies, despite his little beagle/basset hound legs.
But he had nothing on the hounds hitting the water at the Rock-N-Dock Festival - Jumping Up for Down Syndrome, held this past weekend at Patriot Place.
The festival featured a canine aquatics competition and all proceeds benefited the Children's Hospital Boston’s Down syndrome programs.
Organized by Stoughton native Dave Skoletsky, whose daughter, Eve, has DS, the event also featured Skoletsky and his champion dog, Yeager - otherwise known as Team 21.
Lucy and I had a great time. Here’s my amateur video of a dog I thought was going to launch itsself into Sharon:

Sure, we might try to pronounce our "r"s - especially when you're in radio! - but here's my piece in Boston Common magazine about the flavor of a Boston accent, no matter what kind you have (and there are a few!)

Now that the Hunger Games is killing at the box office AND the library, kids are arming themselves with bows and arrows. Um, really parents? I mean, it's a BOW and ARROW. I've seen enough Bugs Bunny cartoons to know this is a bad combination in the wrong hands.

Teaser #1 The Hunger Games — MOVIECLIPS.com

From MSNBC: “Any time a bow and arrow play a prominent role in a Hollywood hit (think Braveheart, Lord of the Rings or Avatar) the 29-year-old Lancaster Archery Supply in Lancaster, Pa., gets a bump in business.
“But this time, in the four weeks since the The Hunger Games hit the big screen, the 55-employee distributor and manufacturer of target archery equipment has seen sales increase in a “profound way,” says President Robert Kaufold, who chalks it up to tweens and teens interested in emulating the sharp-shooting heroine Katniss Everdeen.
“Since the movie hit big screens, Everything Archery ...

Tuesday!

In case you haven’t heard:
Alec Baldwin is staying on “30 Rock” for a seventh season, despite last week’s twit fit.

And speaking of Twitter, Demi Moore is back. @mrskutcher tweeted a picture of herself last night.

Lionel Richie owes $1.1 million dollars in taxes. Makes your return seem OK now. Am I right?

And Jan Hammer is 64 today. And so I leave you with a little taste of the musical stylings of “Miami Vice.” Thank you Mr. Hammer, for your contribution to the sales of synthesizers and white sports jackets paired with pink shirts.

I am all aglow in anticipation of the Couric/Palin morning talk show-down this morning. Are you watching?

Aside from that, Aaron Sorkin's got a new show on HBO - and this time, he takes on....BROADCAST NEWS! He's got my attention anyway with this trailer:

The trailer for "Sparkle" is out and it bums me out even more that Whitney Houston is dead.

Hey, did you know it was the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the "Titanic"? And you know how Americans celebrate major catastrophes and loss of life, right? We re-release a hit movie in 3-D!! Anyway, here are some things you didn't know about the movie "Titanic." http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/things-you-didnt-know-about-titanic
"Dancing with the Stars" theme was "Most Memorable Year". I'm really only into it because of Sherry Shepard (hilarious) and Maria Menounos, who wowed the judges with her maniacal laugh and rhumba. (She got three 9s.) She also ...

Mega Millions - How Do You Pick Your Number?

About a half billion dollars is up for grabs Friday night. Which means it's officially lottery fever all across America.
So how do you pick your numbers? Random? Birthdates? Major life events? Prison number?
Anyway! Here are some fun lottery facts you can wow your friends with while you stand in line at Tedeschi's with the dozens of other wishful thinkers.
From the Massachusetts State Lottery:
Friday night’s $500 million jackpot is the largest jackpot in the world lottery history. The $359.4 million cash option is also world record-setting for a one-time lump sum lottery payment. The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won was $390 million on March 6, 2007. It was split between two tickets sold in Georgia and New Jersey. The largest prize ever awarded to a Massachusetts Lottery player was a $294 million Mega Millions jackpot won on July 2, 2004 by Geraldine Williams of Lowell. Jackpot ...

Just a smattering of stuff on a Wednesday

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS LORAX? ----------------->

I suspect The Grinch has has enough of singing in circles with pug-nosed Whos in Whoville and went rogue.
Who else would STEAL a 2-foot bronce statue of the Lorax from Dr. Suess’ La Jolla, Calif. home of the the author’s widow? Thankfully, there’s one at the Dr. Suess National Memorial in West Springfield, Mass.
For now.
In other news, Cher from Clueless, otherwise known as Alicia (pronounced Ah-leeeee-C-Ah, people) is not only a Vegan, but she’s teaching her kid to like the ABC diet.
As in Already Been Chewed.
Yup. She does the work, then her kid goes up to her mouth like a baby bird and she spits it in his.

Take a moment. It’s OK.
You all right?
Now that you’re back, let’s remind ourselves that in this world, mothers do horrifyingly abusive things to their poor children, so the fact ...

Tuesday and DWTS

I'm not going to rehash the whole DWTS episode.
In a nutshell, Maks and Laura Ingalls Wilder are being beat up by the judges, Maria Menounos is doing really well and that kid from a Disney show no one over 15 has ever heard of is probably going to win it.
But the real star?
I don't care if Sherri Shepard thinks the world is flat - she's the best part of DWTS this year, proving what you lack in talent, you can make up with enthusiasm.
(And yes, I have built a career on this.)
