His poem will be available to purchase, royalties going to the Marathon survivors.
Then Boston’s version of the Star Spangled Banner, followed by a door busting, sing along set by the band.
Comedian Lenny Clark and his yellow pants with his very funny albeit entitled white guy perspective.
Extreme’s acoustic one off set, reuniting specifically for this show; the crowd loved them and sang along.
Ex morning show host and (really) funny guy Steve Sweeney who hit the Boston nail on the head continuously during his time on stage.
J Geils Band. Man oh man. Peter Wolf was on! He and the band were idling with one foot on the brake and the other one to the floor. I have to wonder what might have happened if they were simply playing the ...

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday John Bonham...

My lifelong, bewildering attraction to everything rebellious. My youthful, sentimental association with the albums. And of course….the music. To me, the music purist, with very few exceptions, all the pieces of the puzzle have to be there. So when Jim Morrison died in 1971, the “band”, for all intents and purposes was officially over. Oh, the remaining members did put out a couple of albums without Jim but it wasn’t them. That being said, I did go see the three of them when they were around with Ian Astbury of the Cult (why oh why did they/he do that?) and I’ve gone to a few “tribute’ shows when I needed their songs live and loud. Never got to see them when Jim was alive but just hearing and seeing the three remaining members on stage was, for ...

Helluva Good

Confession. I’ve been having a very enjoyable affair with Helluva Good Bacon Horseradish dip. It started with potato chips; then I put it in my mashed potatoes (I usually use sour cream instead of milk when I make mashed/whipped potatoes). I don’t use sour cream on a baked potato but I bet the Helluva Good Bacon Horseradish dip would be the exception. At one point I was even having a few chips and the Helluva Good dip in the morning after yoga. I think it was the salt I was craving. I realized very quickly it’s probably not a good idea to have chip and dip for breakfast. Why do the things that aren’t that good for ya have to taste so good? Sigh.

Jerry Lee Lewis & John Fogerty doing Fogerty’s Bad Moon Rising….nice, huh?!

You wake up in the morning with your day sort of planned out, your loose list of expectations and the next thing you know, life steps in. One week ago all of our lives were effectively changed, some more than others. We’re all still raw and processing the events of Marathon Monday. Eventually the initial shock will wear off and when it does I’m hoping I will ask myself what the incident was here to teach before I get lulled back into routine. It’s my personal understanding that everything happens for a reason, there’s always a lesson and it’s always for the greater good of self and humanity which are basically one in the same. I have a lot of conflicting and confusing thoughts and emotions in relation to what happened ...

Just Say OM

I didn’t write this (obviously) but I thought it was such good information I wanted to pass it along!! With summer on the way and a lot of us becoming more active outdoors, isn’t it awesome to know just how good it really is for us!! I ride my bike to work occasionally in the nicer weather and often comment about the focus I have to have on the way! Between the cars and pedestrians, by the time I get to the station I feel like I’ve made it through some sort of gauntlet! But it’s well worth it cos I feel fantastic when I get here! Grateful to be alive! Especially after riding down Morrissey Boulevard!! (confession: I ride on the sidewalk as much as I’m allowed). I also ride some awesome bike trails which are more relaxing but I still have to watch for kids, bunnies, squirrels, dogs, ...

Happy 50th Julian Lennon

He sure sounds like his dad... I mean, I am in a human body and with all the moving and bending I'm surprised I haven't done it sooner. OK, on a positive note there were no boys practicing today; and just a handful of females. It happens a lot in there but it was the first time for me. Luckily we were doing a special "silent" class…..yea? NOT FOR LONG! I audibly passed gas in yoga today.

Let's Hear It For Bare Legs

Am I the only girl who doesn't know how to put on a pair of tights? I take them out of their package and teetering on one leg I start the process at the toe. No sooner do I get my foot covered, pulling the one leg up to my knee and starting on the other leg, the tights begin to twist at one of the ankles. By the time I get that straightened out and begin to hike them up higher, the other side is wound around my thigh so tightly (maybe that's why they're called "tights"?), I can't pull them up and I have to start all over again from the first foot. When after 15 minutes of wrangling I do somehow get both legs somewhat arranged, the seam at the butt is crooked on my butt and either the crotch is hanging like gangsta tights or the ...
