How to Enter for a Chance to Win

To become an official contestant, visit Cambridge Savings Bank’s Third Avenue Branch in Burlington, MA between Thursday, July 10, 2014 and Friday, July 18, 2014 to claim one of 105 official contest shovels.  Shovels will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  Contestants must provide their first and last name, address, date of birth, email address and contact phone number when claiming the shovel.  Limit one shovel per person and per household. Then, attend the Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival on Saturday, July 19th between 12PM and 2PM in Revere, MA for the chance to “dig up” a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  Contestants must bring their official contest shovel and register at the Cambridge Savings Bank Booth no later than 1pm on July 19th in order to participate in the contest.

*If all 105 shovels have not been claimed by 5pm on Friday, July 18, 2014, the remainder of the shovels will be given away at the Cambridge Savings Bank Booth at the Revere Beach Sand Sculpting Festival on Saturday July 19, 2014 from 12pm until 1pm or until all 105 shovels have been claimed. Shovels will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  Contestants must provide their first and last name, address, date of birth, email address and contact phone number when claiming the shovel.  Limit one shovel per person and per household.

Each contestant will have 60 seconds to dig in the designated area for a chance to win the Grand Prize trip to Punta Cana.  The first contestant to dig up the bottle containing the official prize envelope will win the Grand Prize.  If no contestant digs up the bottle within the allotted 60 seconds, no prize will be awarded.  WROR staff will be the official judges and timekeepers for the contest.  All decisions of the judges are final.

Prize

Up to one (1) Grand Prize will be awarded, if a contestant successfully digs up the contest bottle within 60 seconds.  Prize is a 7-night all-inclusive trip for two (2) to the RIU Palace in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  Trip includes roundtrip coach class airfare for two (2) from Boston to Punta Cana, roundtrip transportation between Punta Cana airport and hotel, 7-night stay (one room, double occupancy) at the RIU Palace and all meals and beverages at the resort, courtesy of TNT Vacations. Valid travel dates: July 9 – November 26; December 5-15, 2014, January 8 – February 11; February 27 – March 12; April 6 – May 24; May 29 – June 26; July 9 – November 25; December 4 - 15 , 2015.  Blackout dates and other restrictions may apply.  If winner is unable to travel during one of the designated time periods, s/he will forfeit the prize.  All travel must be completed by December 15, 2015.  Scheduling is subject to availability.  All taxes, including but not limited to, federal, state, and local taxes, and any other costs and expenses associated with acceptance and use of prize (including, without limitation, baggage fees, ground transportation and parking in Boston area, off-site meals and beverages, excursions, and other incidental expenses) are the sole responsibility of the winner. Taxes and fees are subject to change upon notice from TNT Vacations and are nonrefundable. Grand Prize Winner must be at least 21 years of age. Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary and must have valid Passport for travel to international destinations.  Minor guest, if any, must travel with custodial parent or legal guardian.

Approximate retail value of Grand Prize is: $3800.00.

Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash.  105.7 WROR reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute any prize with one of equal or greater value.  Winner may not request prize substitution.  Prize is non-transferable and may not be claimed or used by any person other than the winner.  Winner must claim prize by completing all required paperwork in person at the 105.7 WROR offices within 30 days after the end of the contest.  Prize not claimed within the 30-day period will be forfeited.

Eligibility

All entrants must be at least 21 years old and legal residents of the United States, living or working in Station’s metro survey area (as defined by Nielsen Audio).  A winner will be disqualified if he/she or a member of his/her household has won a 105.7 WROR contest with a value over $50.00 within the previous 60 days.  Employees (including their immediate families and members of the same household) of Greater Media Boston, its affiliates, promotion sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies who do business with 105.7 WROR or any of the promotion sponsors, and other radio stations in 105.7 WROR’s metro survey area are not eligible to participate in any contest presented by 105.7 WROR.  The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents and legal guardians, children and legal wards, grandparents, and grandchildren, including “in-laws.”  Limit one contest shovel and contest attempt per person and per household.  Void where prohibited.

Release

By entering, all participants  release and hold harmless the promotion sponsors, 105.7 WROR, Greater Boston Radio, Inc. and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability and any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest and any prize won.  Winner will be required to sign a form releasing 105.7 WROR and its affiliated companies from all liability in connection with the contest and the award and use of the prize before claiming the prize.

105.7 WROR undertakes no liability or responsibility, and makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the performance of the prize(s) awarded, for any failure to perform or negligent performance of any service provider, or for any other risk, incident or damage, direct or indirect, relating to or arising out of the contest, including (but not limited to) cancellations, postponements, delays or other scheduling changes; missed events or connections or inability of winner to attend; and accident, injury, death, damage or expense arising from or occurring during the use of the prize, or travel to/from or attendance at any event relating to the contest, by the winner and/or winner’s guest(s).  105.7 WROR is not responsible for damage to a prize or loss of a prize after the prize has been claimed. Winner must inspect prize or prize certificate before leaving the station.  105.7 WROR is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failure or malfunctions, lost or unavailable network or other telecommunications connections, or lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, disconnected, or delayed contest entries or communications, whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this contest, or by any human error which may occur in the execution of this contest.  If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of being conducted as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond the control of 105.7 WROR, 105.7 WROR reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest and/or determine an alternate method of awarding the prize(s).

License

Entry into any contest constitutes full permission for 105.7 WROR and promotion sponsors and their respective affiliates to broadcast and/or to photograph or publish the participant's name, voice, recorded comments, biographical information, face and likeness, in any medium, without compensation.

Taxes

105.7 WROR will report the total value of the Grand Prize to the IRS and will furnish winner with a federal Form 1099.  Winner must provide his/her social security number to 105.7 WROR for tax reporting purposes, and is solely responsible for payment of all taxes incurred as a result of the award of a prize.

General

Failure to conform to all contest rules, or any fraud or other illegal or inappropriate conduct on the part of a contestant or on a contestant’s behalf, will result in the contestant's disqualification and forfeiture of any prize won.  105.7 WROR reserves the right to rule ineligible listeners who, in 105.7 WROR’s sole judgment, engage in abusive conduct with respect to any contest or promotion conducted by 105.7 WROR or its affiliates.  105.7WROR reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify this Contest and these Official Rules at any time, which changes will become effective upon announcement.  By taking part in this contest, participants agree to be bound by these rules and all decisions of the judges, who are employees of 105.7 WROR and whose decisions with respect to all aspects of the contest are final and binding.  Copies of written contest rules and, where required by law, the list of winners are available during regular business hours at the 105.7 WROR studio, 55 Morrissey Blvd., Boston, MA 02125, for 60 days after the contest concludes. 

As a condition to participating in this Contest, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and all causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Boston, MA having competent jurisdiction, which court shall apply the laws of the State of Massachusetts, without regard to the conflicts of law principles thereof. The entrant and 105.7 WROR hereby waive any and all right to trial by jury. If any provision of these Official Rules is declared or found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, unenforceable or void, then such provision will be null and void but each other provision hereof not so affected will be enforced to the full extent permitted by applicable law.
